„I very warmly greet all of the nuns, whom I see here. In my time there were only the Sisters of Nazareth; I used to go to them when I was of an age when a person is still referred to as “a little one.”
John Paul II
The Sisters of Nazareth came to Wadowice in 1894 and began their work in very difficult conditions. As is written in the chronicles:
„In a rundown dwelling, which became the house of the Sisters, water froze in vessels. The Mother Superior often had no money for bread.”
At the beginning, the Sisters ran the kindergarten then, once the building begun in 1950 was completed, they opened a school of tayloring for girls. Afterwards they began work caring for disabled children.
